Volunteer
Train to become a tour guide!
If you are interested in history and enjoy meeting new people, you'll love volunteering at Gadsby's Tavern Museum. Tours are offered weekdays, some weekday nights, and weekends. We ask for a minimum monthly commitment of 4-6 hours. The training process is designed to be simple and flexible. Simply, meet with the Volunteer Coordinator to receive your training packet, observe 5 tours and pass your tour review. The Volunteer Coordinator is there to help you every step of the way! If you have any questions or would like to learn more about other volunteer opportunities at Gadsby's Tavern Museum, please call the Volunteer Coordinator at (703) 838-4242.
Volunteer Benefits
Active volunteers receive: free admission to over 30 historic house museums, discounts at Gadsby's Tavern Restaurant, free garage parking (while on duty), free admission to museum lectures, a subscription to the museum newsletter, and invitations to annual volunteer parties, field trips, and exhibit openings.
Continuing Education
Once your training is complete, Gadsby's Tavern Museum provides many opportunities for continued learning through access to our research library, lectures, field trips, and symposia.
