Archaeology Museum follows a detailed collection policy
in making decisions about adding to the collection,
loaning artifacts from the collection, and allowing
access to scholars and members of the public.

The Code
Books provide the terms used to catalogue artifacts in our database,
and includes sections on ceramics, glass and animal bones. Included are
definitions and dates for an extensive list of 18th and 19th century
ceramic wares and types, and for many of the identifying features of
glass vessels.

Collections

This conference paper discusses the need to
assess the artifact storage conditions and create adequate repositories
to preserve these collections for the future. It details the efforts
which led to the creation of the new Alexandria Archaeology Storage
Facility in 1990.
